Abel concepting

After  a while, I finally came back to this universe of mine, and have started working on Judas's brother, Abel.

As with Judas, I have done some sketches to try some different silhouettes. Now I'm on the process of narrowing this down to get a final design.
I'm going or something a little bit softer than what Judas wears, but still prince-ish.

Stay tuned for more!

Spaced Out

Oops. These are not two monsters from that challenge I'm supposed to be doing. I do plan to finish it, but I ran into a bit of a block and these two pieces are how I attempted to break through it.
I ended up with a scifi-ish skyline, because it lets me get away with a lot of fun stuff.

The "daytime" version was a happy accident I liked quite a bit, so I decided to keep both versions.

Monster Challenge 03

Continuing on the challenge, here is a Merman, and a Spider lady. The Merman is based on veiltail goldfish but with a different color scheme of course. And for spider lady I just had fun creating shapes in her legs; not sure if spiders like that actually exist.

I guess this is a white/silver hair post. Thanks for watching!

Monster Challenge 02

Here are the next two of the series, an Undine and a Naga.

I didn't use much of a reference for this two, but the Naga is mostly a reincarnation of a character I had done previously.
Thanks for looking!

Monster Challenge 01

I started doing a daily monster challenge with a friend, where you draw a different sort of anthropomorphic creature each day. We are now on day 5, but I had forgotten to start posting those here. The first two, were a harpy, and a centaur.

She is loosely based on a quetzal, and he is sort of an appaloosa. To those who follow my work, you might recognize his face from my portrait series.
I'll  keep posting these two at a time, so stay tuned tomorrow for the next batch!

Dos mas!

And here is the latest batch of portraits I've done.

I think these two might be the last in this series for a while. They were fun, but there's some other work I need to start focusing on more.

New landscape

Another speed paint. This one was not 30 minutes, but just fun nevertheless.

Two more portraits!

I think so far, these two are my favorite from the series.

Now I'm running out of things to say, so that's it for now! [=

30 mins

Edit: I added a second image I did following the same timing constrictions

So this is the result when I actually time myself for a speed-paint. I gave myself 30 minutes, and when the clock rang, I dropped the stylus.

Not a bad start I suppose. And just in case you're wondering, the portrait "series" is still happening, I've got two more on the works now, so look forward to those [=

And two more

Two more portraits. I might keep doing these as a biweekly thing. Or maybe I'll keep doing them nightly, and try to get faster at this whole thing. Maybe even find a style.

Do enjoy!

Just another portrait

Edit: I added a 2nd portrait I made the night after. Didn't feel like making a new post just for it.

Let me paint a quick setting for you: It's midnight, and you've done about everything you had planned for the day, and are ready to go to sleep. So naturally, you get ready for bed right? ... Well, that would just make sense, so instead I open Ps and start doodling. Sometime later, this is the result.

That's about it for now. Hope you like!

Mass Effect

This started as a concept in the back of my mind that just wouldn't go away until I put it on paper. And once it was on paper, I just had to see it through to completion. Just a fun little piece.

In case you're curious, my friends pictured here are:
Annie Chastain as an infiltator
Me as an adept
Bern O'keeffe as an sentinel
TJ Martin as an vanguard
You should check their websites out!

Rim Lighitng

So after months of radio silence, I've come back with this little... teaser if you will, of a fun painting I've been working on. I was just playing with layers, and turned off everything except rim light and "special effects". There is a bit more to the image, but I don't want to ruin the surprise just yet, in case anyone actually follows this blog.

Thanks for checking it out; more to come soon!
